I've added a new gallery to my gallery section of the site - containing pictures that may be useful to modelers, mini painters, etc. who are looking for reference or inspiration. I'll keep adding to it over the coming weeks!

I've also spent some time cleaning up the older galleries - fixing titles, keywords, etc. 

I believe this is a Patton M47 tank that's at a memorial at a small town near where I live. Quite a surprise to come around a bend in the road and see that beast! 

Log cabins were a staple of the American landscape for probably a good three centuries. As such, they can be a useful terrain item for any wargame set in the colonial or American Civil War period. Luckily they tend to be fairly simple structurally, and there were also a wide variety of styles. If you're thinking about building one of these for your collection, this photo reference may be useful to you. Read on for photographs of three very different log cabins.

Feast of the Hunters Moon 2004, Fort Ouiatenon Indiana

The "Feast of the Hunters Moon" is an annual even held at the Fort (near West Lafayette, Indiana) every year. It's intended to recreate a fur trapper's rendezvous of the type that were common on the frontier during the colonial period. It features a huge number of merchants selling everything from food (most of which is at least relatively authentic - no Chinese food here!) to period goods like clothing, weapons, etc.

It's also a great source of pictures of 18th century "stuff" - uniforms, guns, etc.
